1. Dealing with personal information
CASIO Europe GmbH will only collect and process statistically-anonymous access figures from the web space provider, and this will not include any personal user information. The statistical access figures include, for example, the web sites that are accessed most frequently, as well as the previous page used to access the web site (e.g. via a search engine).
CASIO uses pixels and transparent GIF files to support online advertising. These files enable CASIO to track which adverts are used to access the particular Internet pages. The information which is produced and used in this way cannot be used to identify any specific individual - it does not contain any details of names, e-mail addresses, residential addresses or telephone numbers.
This statistical data is not related back to individual people, and is processed on a purely anonymous basis. It should be noted, however, that all Internet users leave traces when visiting web sites, and that these traces could be used at a later date for identification purposes, for instance by using the IP address.
No other personal information will be stored without your permission. You alone decide whether you wish to disclose your personal information to CASIO, for instance as part of a survey or whilst entering a competition. All information that is collected in this manner is handled in complete confidence, and is not disclosed to any third party without permission. It will only be stored while it is being used to carry out specific services that are provided, and will then be fully erased. This information will not be passed to third parties for advertising purposes unless you have given specific permission for this to be done. Permission can be withdrawn, and can be given electronically at any time, as long as this is a clear and conscious act on your part. Your compliance will be recorded by us, and you can access the contents of this compliance at any time.
All information given during product registration is evaluated on an anonymous basis, as this relates solely to improving products and their characteristics.
Personal data relating to company employees will only be published with the explicit permission of those affected.
A cookie is a small file that is placed on the user's hard drive. It stores information about a visit to a particular website so that it can identify repeated visits. The information can only be read by the website that created the cookie. In the case of www.casio-europe.com, this also includes CASIO Europe GmbH. Personal information about the user is not stored.
You can configure your browser settings so that cookies are not accepted - this will affect technical programming, however, and may mean that you are unable to use certain offers and web services on Internet sites provided by CASIO. You can also delete cookies yourself at any time by following the relevant instructions provided by your browser software.
Personal information is also collected from competition entries and when orders are placed etc. CASIO Europe GmbH will also handle this information in accordance with the legal regulations for data protection. Information will only be processed for advertising purposes in compliance with the legal regulations. Details can be found in the relevant conditions of entry or purchase.

4. Right of disclosure
In accordance with the current law, if requested to do so, CASIO will notify you in writing and free of charge whether we are storing any personal information about you, and what this information consists of.
This CASIO website uses social plugins ("Plugins") from the social network facebook.com that are operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). These Plugins are marked with the Facebook logo.
CASIO also offers the Facebook "Like" button on some websites. The Facebook "Like" button is a quick and easy way for you to let your Facebook friends know when you like one of our sites.
When you visit a website of ours that contains one of these Plugins, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. Facebook transfers the content of the Plugin directly to your browser, which embeds it into the website.
Embedding the Plugins ensures that Facebook is notified that you have visited one of our websites. If you are logged in to Facebook, your visit can be recorded in your Facebook account. When you interact with the Plugins (e.g. by clicking the "Like" button), the corresponding information is sent from your browser directly to Facebook, where it is saved.
The following data is sent to Facebook:
• IP address
• Browser version and operating system
• The page the visitor came from (referrer) if you followed a link
• Display resolution
• Installed Plugins, e.g. Flash or Adobe Reader
• URL of the page in which the "Like" button is embedded
You can disable this data transfer by configuring the security settings in whichever browser you are using (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari). Please open the "Help" section in your browser to find out how this works.
If you do not want Facebook to gather information about you via our websites, you can log out of Facebook before using the social Plugins on our websites.
Please see the data protection section on Facebook for information about the purpose of the data collection process and the extent of the data to be collected, as well as about how Facebook will process and use your data and your rights and options for protecting your confidential information in this regard.
